Library Resources for Faculty: Library Materials

LibGuides: Course Websites

Your librarian partner can put together a course/subject/or POE focused research website to centralize the materials and databases your students need!

Explore the libguides below that have already been created. Contact a librarian to have more added.

Course Reserves

Course reserves make class materials freely available to students through the library. Students can check out books or other materials at the library information desk for two hour periods. These materials may already be owned by the library, or instructors can provide personal copies. These personal copies can be returned to the instructor at any time.

To learn more about Course Reserves, or to request materials be placed on reserve, visit our Course Reserve Guide.

DVDs on Reserve

If you wish to put DVDs on reserve (especially popular DVDs), please first check to see if they are available through our streaming service, Swank. You can use this database to embed videos into your course Moodle site, or share the link with students directly through email.

To look through their offerings, you have to make an account.  This website explains how to do so very thoroughly.  Once you have made an account, you can request titles.  If you are planning to require a title for class, please mention that in the notes and we will take that into account when we make our final decisions on which movies we will license for this semester.
